Holland Brooks (they/them) is a versatile emerging technical stage manager, production manager, lighting designer, writer and director with a Bachelor in Performing Arts (Performance Making) from WAAPA. Their debut play Unnatural (2024, Scarlet Rose Productions & The Blue Room Theatre), received 6 Performing Arts WA Awards nominations, including Best Independent Production, Outstanding Contemporary or Experimental Performance, and Outstanding New Work. Holland’s recent projects showcase their immense versatility: Recent stage management projects include The Blok! (2025, Performing Lines & A Daylight Connection), The Machine Stops (2025, Theatre Works), Hometown (2025, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre), and Passports (2025, Undercurrent Theatre Company). Recent directing includes Gal Pals (2024, Scarlet Rose Productions & The Blue Room Theatre) and Bad Feminist (2024, Sailing With Styx Theatre and The Blue Room Theatre). Recent production management includes The Little Prince (2025, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre). Recent lighting/sound design includes The Place Where Hetty Goes to Die (2025, VCA), How the KKK Saved the Day (2024, The Blue Room Theatre). Holland is particularly interested in disrupting the idea of what is ‘stageable’ and ‘possible’ in live performance contexts - both on and offstage.
